Intro To Rock Rescue

Instructor: David Lussier (ACMG mountain guide and owner of Summit Mountain Guides)

Description: Your leader has taken a fall… Your belaying was effective, but your partner has a bad injury. You are still safely holding the brake end of the rope, but what do you do now? Can you free your hands to make a phone call? Can you safely anchor your partner to the wall? Can you yourself escape the belay and ascend along the rope? If your partner is below you, would you know how to effectively raise or lower him or her using mechanical advantage systems? These and more are questions covered at length in David Lussier’s Intro to Rock Rescue clinic.
